My name is Aldo Mendez. I am a 22-year-old undergraduate
at the University of California, Berkeley, majoring in Applied
Mathematics with a concentration in Computer Science. I was born
in East Los Angeles and raised in the neighborhood of El Sereno
in Northeast Los Angeles.
I have previously worked as a Summer Technology Analyst within the Technology Risk team at Goldman Sachs
in the Greater New York Area. Additionally, as I come from an
underserved community, I also have a strong passion in youth outreach and
enjoy serving as a mentor to underrepresented students. I have
been a member of Hispanic Engineers and Scientists (HES) at
UC Berkeley for 3 years, and my involvement has allowed me to
both undergo professional development while allowing me to give
back to underserved communities in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Aside from my academic/professional interests, I also enjoy
traveling, which I was able to do in Summer 2015 during my
study/intern abroad program in Dublin, Ireland. I also have
a strong interest in both playing and watching fútbol, and
I have played Intramural Soccer for five semesters, captaining
my side in three of them.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me.
